| 13 of 15 people found the following review helpful  usb port failure, By This review is from: Light and Motion VIS 360 Helmet Head and Tailight Set (Sports) I bought the vis 360 about 5 months ago and the usb port failed, it actually broke away from the poor solder connection. That said it is clearly a weakness in the design and will become problematic in the future. Luckily for me I'm an electronic technician and was able to solder it back on, I have voltage to the battery to charge it but the flashing indicator no longer works. They need to scrap the mini usb and use a standard charging method. I use this in hot and cold weather, and in the rain. It needs to be ruggedized.Outside of that it was a great light, the front light has real good distance before it scatters and I can be see from far away, so I am to told. For the price they are asking they need to do more R&D and field testing. Also when I went to disassemble it the screws were already striped out, another sign of poor workman ship. I get that: the first light I purchased died within a week (headlight screw fell out; flasher function died). But that's what Amazon's return policy is for, although I'd recommend buying this at a merchant like REI since you can get a replacement faster, and without returning your existing purchase first. My replacement is holding up just fine months later. I most love that it's a fixture on my helmet and I don't have to worry about removing lights from the bike every time I park. I am thrilled that it's rechargeable and love the colleague techno geek admiration of my "USB helmet." Both lights are very securely attached to the helmet, and are very easy to remove. It turns out, however, that I do. First, having light visible all around me as I ride a bike at night is much safer than only having light ahead of me. Having amber light to the sides and red light to the rear really helps traffic recognize me from all sides.
